Our Story
CHAPTER I
Forty Years of Passion for Vanilla
Before it became a trade, vanilla was a family story.
For more than forty years, our family has carried on a precious craft around SAVA Bourbon vanilla, in step with the seasons and the harvests.
This know-how was built over time, through observation, patience and respect for the product. Recognising a ripe bean by touch, judging a blanching by its scent, sensing the moment each bean has reached its full potential: these are precise skills that cannot be learned from books alone, but are passed on through experience.
At the heart of this story, a loyal team of sorters and curers carries on these essential skills every day. Their expertise, their high standards and their skilled hands are the foundation of our quality.
Because behind every bean lies a craft, the women and men who practise it, and a story we are committed to carrying forward.
CHAPTER II
A Family Story, Looking to the Future
A living heritage, passed down from generation to generation.
For us, vanilla is far more than a business: it is a family story, shaped by more than forty years of work, transmission and attachment to the land of SAVA.
In 2026, Vilya Green was born from this family story, with the aim of preserving what makes us strong while opening a new chapter: that of a generation drawing on the skills and lessons of the past to build a company focused on the future and on international markets.
Our ambition is not to start from scratch, but to grow what was built before us. By valuing the women and men who keep this industry alive, preserving the skills that give our vanilla its character and building lasting relationships with our partners, we aim to make this heritage endure.
CHAPTER III
Sambava, at the Heart of Our Story
This is where it all begins, in the heart of SAVA, where vanilla takes root.
Between the Indian Ocean and the green hills of north-eastern Madagascar, Sambava is far more than the home of our head office and workshop: it is our anchor, the place that shapes our story, our craft and our daily bond with vanilla.
We build our business as close as possible to its terroir. We source green vanilla directly from growers in the villages, through relationships of trust built on the ground over the years. For cured vanilla, we work with collectors we know, and we follow their products closely.
This closeness to the supply chain matters deeply to us. It helps us know where our vanilla comes from, understand the realities on the ground and build lasting relationships with everyone who contributes to its quality, day after day.
